Week 23 of the money mental earnings challenge – the start of a new month!

Spread the love

Hello readers! And welcome to week 23 of the money mental earnings challenge! This week sees the start of another month! I’m carrying over a deficit of £5.14 from last month which needs adding to the challenge target for this month and I’m away with work for large periods of the month so I think April could present my biggest challenge yet!

For those of you are unfamiliar with the challenge and what I’m trying to achieve you may want to start off by reading this post here.

The target is to make £560 a month to cover the costs of my car loan, car insurance, road tax and newly accquired storage unit. Each week I will be reporting on my progress towards this monthly challenge. I’ll be using a variety of different sources to earn money details of which I’ve written about in this post here.

If you want to see how I did in the last week of the challenge you can find out by clicking here.

Each week I’ll give a breakdown of what I’ve earned and how I’ve earned it before. As previously mentioned my main source of income to support the challenge will be buying and selling goods on eBay so for reporting purposes I will include details of what items I sold on eBay, how much it cost me, how much I sold it for and how much profit I made after fees. The last figure will be rounded down to the nearest 50p for ease.

So here’s week 23!

eBay:

Jenga Aftershocks – cost £1 from a charity shop, sold for an offer of £8 including shipping. Total profit after fees and shipping costs £3.

Walt Disney Classics Donald Duck Video – cost £0.00 as came as part of a bundle of videos from another reseller which I’m now well into profit on, sold for £7.99 including shipping. Total profit after fees £4

Jofel soap dispenser (brand new and boxed) – cost £1.67 from an eBay auction, sold for £14.99 including shipping. Total profit after fees £8 (so happy to see this go as I’ve had this for months).

4 x brand new E180 vhs tapes – cost £2 from a car boot sale, sold for £10.99 including shipping. Total profit after fees £4.50

Brand new and sealed Harry Potter Scene It – cost £1.75 from a charity shop, sold for an offer of £20 including shipping. Total profit after fees £12.50 (this wasn’t the rare complete collection one unfortunately).

Rose Rivers signed by Jaqueline Wilson book – this was a free gift from Mother as part of a book signing she’d been to, sold in a 15% off sale for £16.14 including shipping. Total profit after fees £11.

Canon UC8000 camcorder (sold as untested spares and repairs) – cost £5 from a car boot sale, sold for an offer of £21.50 including shipping. Total profit after fees £10 (could have held out for more on this but I’d had it for a while so was happy to take the money).

Only fools and horses board game – cost £1.99 from a charity shop, sold for an offer of £15 including shipping. Total profit after fees £8.

Disney Princess Auroa travel mug – cost £1.90 in the Debenhams sales, sold for an offer of £10 including shipping. Total profit after fees £4.

Mickey Mouse calendar – came for free as part of a gift bag, sold for an offer of £5 including shipping. Total profit after fees £1 (had this listed for months with no offers so was happy to see it gone).

Matt Hardy Zombie figure – cost £4.99 from Home Bargains, sold for an offer of £15 including shipping. Total profit after fees £5.

New Barbie Doll and Pink Convertible Car – cost £7.50 from Tescos, sold for £25.49 in a 15% off sale. Total profit after fees £10.50.

Total eBay income: £81.50 – not the best week of sales but I was away for most of it so I’m ok with that.

Facebook:

No income from facebook.

Total facebook income: £0.00

Other income:

Blogging £100

Total other income: £100.

Week 23 total income: £181.50.

Not a bad start to the month meaning that in this months challenge I currently stand at £181.50/£565.14. I’m away for a few days again the following week though so I’m expecting a really poor week for sales. Fingers crossed I can manage to hit the challenge target for the month though!

Thanks for reading.

Andrew
